Front Ensemble Instructor

MACKENZIE STEINBERG grew up in Scandia, Minnesota and currently resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is extremely excited to be back for his second season as a part of the instructional staff at Pacific Crest.

In addition to teaching at Pacific Crest, Mackenzie has also been on instructional staff at multiple high schools and independent groups in both Southern California and Minnesota. His teaching experiences include Burnsville High School, Irondale High School, Los Alamitos High School, Eden Prairie High School, and Minnesota Brass Indoor.

Mackenzie has performed with a number of marching arts groups since high school, including Minnesota Brass Drum and Bugle Corps, Minnesota Brass Indoor, Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps, Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps, and RCC Indoor Percussion. He served as the front ensemble section leader for both Blue Devils and RCC.

Mackenzie will be graduating from Hamline University in Saint Paul, MN in the Spring of 2019 with a degree in Sociology.

Cameron Campise

Carmon Campise
Visual Instructor

CAMERON CAMPISE is from League City, Texas. He currently attends Sam Houston State University, where he studies Criminal Justice, plays Horn, and is a member of various ensembles.

Carmon is a marching instructor at Klein Collins High School in Spring, Texas, and previously taught at Dickinson High School in Dickson, Texas.

Cameron performed the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps (2013) where he played trumpet, and was a mellophone performer with the Blue Knights (2014) and the Santa Clara Vanguard (2016-17).

After graduation, Cameron plans on pursuing Master’s Degree in criminology or a career as a Police Officer with the Houston Police Department or a Federal Agency. He also plans to continue teaching in order to give back to the activity that has given so much to him.

Ellen Chmura

ELLEN CHMURA is currently finishing her bachelors in music education with a concentration in French horn at the University of North Texas, where she will graduate in May 2018. During her time at UNT she has performed in the Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, and Concert Orchestra.

Ellen has also worked with multiple bands in the DFW area including Flower Mound High School and Marcus High School. She performed on mellophone with the Phantom Regiment 2014-2016, and aged out with the Blue Devils in 2017, where she was a soloist.

Corey Hatfield

COREY HATFIELD is currently a fourth year student pursuing a degree in Instrumental Music Education at Iowa State University, where he studies privately with Christian Carichner. While at Iowa State, he has been a member of the Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra, serving as Principal Tuba in both ensembles for the past 3 years. He has also been a part of the Iowa State Brass Quintet and Tuba/Euphonium Quartet, performing gigs across Ames and the greater Des Moines Area.

As a performer, Corey played tuba with the Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps (2013-2016), and aged out in 2017 as a member of the Blue Devils.

As an educator, he has had the opportunity to be a teaching assistant for the undergraduate music history courses at Iowa State, taught the Ames High School Marching Band, and has taught/consulted with the Valley High School Marchmasters of West Des Moines, Iowa. He also performed with and taught the WGI WIO ensemble Cyclone Sound in 2014 and 2015. Corey is the Visual Coordinator of Crossroads Percussion, a WGI Independent A ensemble based in West Des Moines, Iowa. 2017 will be their inaugural season. He also teaches private tuba lessons in the greater Ames area.
