AKIRA TORRIJOS was born in Modesto, California, and holds a degree in Computer Science from UC San Diego.

After performing Fever Drum and bugle corps in 2006 through 2007, Akira went on to march with the Mandarins in 2008 and then the Bluecoats in 2009, where he was recognized as Rookie of the Year. He continued as a euphonium player with Bluecoats until aging out in 2011. Akira has also performed as a cymbal player with a number of WGI groups, including Propel Percussion, Freelancers, Pulse Open, and Pulse Percussion.

Akira served as a visual instructor for the 2013 Bluecoats, and is currently on staff at Pulse Percussion. In addition, he has worked as a consultant for groups in the Northern California area such as Monte Vista High School and Impact Percussion. Currently, Akira has worked as visual instructor and movement specialist for the marching and winter programs at Pacific High School since 2012.

Chyann Figueroa

CHYANN FIGUEROA performed with Pacific Crest, The Academy, and The Blue devils. She aged out of the Blue Devils in 2014 and served as their Front Ensemble Section Leader. Her performance career also includes five seasons with the RCC Indoor Drumline (2011 – 2015), where she has served as its Front Ensemble Section Leader since 2014.

Chyann is in the process of transferring to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where she plans to complete her Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science. 

She is a sought-after educator, having taught at a number of award-winning high schools, including Woodbridge (Irvine, CA), Fountain Valley, and Valencia (Placentia, CA).

The highly anticipated Pacific Crest and Blue Devils Experience Camp/Auditions took place this past weekend and provided tremendous results recruiting over 430 students to Pacific Crest’s home base, Diamond Bar High School.

Miguel Guaderrama

MIGUEL GUADERRAMA has been performing and teaching for two decades. He preformed with Pacific Crest and Blue Devils, as well as the World Class Drumline at Riverside Community College. He was a recognized leader in all three programs.

Miguel also has a love for Latin percussion, and has experience drumming in venues around the world. He started his professional career with BD Entertainment, and has gone on to perform at Disneyland (Anaheim, CA), Ariel Experience, Tokyo Disneyland, and Universal Studios Japan. He has also preformed on live broadcasts, including The Jerry Lewis Telethon and The American Music Awards with Enrique Iglesias.

Miguel’s passion for teaching stems from his desire to give back to the marching and Latin percussion communities. He has educated and trained high school musicians at Cerritos, Ayala, Sunny Hills, Downey, and Diamond Ranch High Schools. He has also taught at Esperanza Drum and Bugle Corps and Blue Devils B Drum and Bugle Corps.
