2015 Golf Tournament Raises the Most Ever

LUIS CARDENAS CASILLAS earned his Master of Music degree in trumpet performance from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he studied with Jens Lindemann, was a teaching assistant for the marching band under the direction of Gordon Henderson, and was a graduate assistant teaching undergraduate lessons. He received a Bachelor’s degree in trumpet performance with a Minor in music theory from the University of North Texas, and did a year of graduate study at the Chicago Conservatory of the Performing Arts.

As a performer, Luis has played in styles ranging from British style brass bands to mariachi and almost everything in between. He has performed around Los Angeles in venues such as the Broad Stage and Royce Hall. Recent highlights include the world premiere of Dobrow’s Trumpet by John Steinmetz, and the North American premiere of selections from In Search of Bruno Walter by Gideon Lewensohn.

As a teacher, Luis has worked with bands across the country as an instructor, clinician, guest artist, consultant, and caption head. Currently, Luis is brass caption head for Pacific Crest Drum and Bugle Corps, winds caption head for Chino Hills High School, and works extensively with Arcadia High School, along with work at UCLA and the University of Nevada Reno.

PABLO COPPOLA was born and raised in Southern California and previously studied at California State University, Fullerton.

Pablo’s love for the Drum & Bugle activity began at a very young age while spending his youthful summer’s watching his older brother perform with Pacific Crest (Diego, a Charter Member of PC). He was a member of the Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets from 2001-2004. During his time in Santa Clara, Pablo served as Mellophone section leader for three years and as Horn Sergeant his last two years.

Pablo began teaching in the fall of 2004 when he returned to Diamond Bar High School as a visual instructor. Since then, he has worked with numerous high schools, including Esperanza, Rancho Cucamonga, Chino Hills, Yorba Linda, Sierra Vista, Anaheim, Durate and St. Paul’s. Pablo taught with Pacific Crest from 2008-2011 and Spirit of Atlanta from 2013-2015 as a visual instructor.

Currently, Pablo resides in Tempe, Arizona, where he is pursuing an educational studies degree with an emphasis on music and special education from Arizona State University.
