Brandon Johnson is the Director of the Marching Band, Jazz Band, and the Orchestra Programs at University High School in Irvine, California. He is a native of Portales, New Mexico, and holds a Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Eastern New Mexico University where he studied tuba with Dr. David F. Wilborn and Mr. Robert Simmons. Prior to moving to California, Brandon taught instrumental music programs in Donna, Texas and Clovis, New Mexico.

Brandon was a marching member of the Casper Troopers, the Blue Knights, and the Cadets of Bergen County. He has been a brass staff member of the Boston Crusaders, and he was in the Original London Cast of the theatrical production Blast!.

For four years Brandon was a member of the United States Army’s 1st Cavalry Division Band. During his tenure with the 1st Cavalry Band, Brandon spent one year deployed to Baghdad, Iraq, providing musical support to soldiers during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Brandon is currently working on his Master�s Degree at Azusa Pacific University, and he is an Officer in the United States Army Reserves. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, distance running, and spending time with his family.
