ELLEN CHMURA is currently finishing her bachelors in music education with a concentration in French horn at the University of North Texas, where she will graduate in May 2018. During her time at UNT she has performed in the Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, and Concert Orchestra.

Ellen has also worked with multiple bands in the DFW area including Flower Mound High School and Marcus High School. She performed on mellophone with the Phantom Regiment 2014-2016, and aged out with the Blue Devils in 2017, where she was a soloist.

COREY HATFIELD is currently a fourth year student pursuing a degree in Instrumental Music Education at Iowa State University, where he studies privately with Christian Carichner. While at Iowa State, he has been a member of the Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra, serving as Principal Tuba in both ensembles for the past 3 years. He has also been a part of the Iowa State Brass Quintet and Tuba/Euphonium Quartet, performing gigs across Ames and the greater Des Moines Area.

As a performer, Corey played tuba with the Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps (2013-2016), and aged out in 2017 as a member of the Blue Devils.

As an educator, he has had the opportunity to be a teaching assistant for the undergraduate music history courses at Iowa State, taught the Ames High School Marching Band, and has taught/consulted with the Valley High School Marchmasters of West Des Moines, Iowa. He also performed with and taught the WGI WIO ensemble Cyclone Sound in 2014 and 2015. Corey is the Visual Coordinator of Crossroads Percussion, a WGI Independent A ensemble based in West Des Moines, Iowa. 2017 will be their inaugural season. He also teaches private tuba lessons in the greater Ames area.

Patrick Geren

Patrick Garen

PATRICK GEREN is an independent music educator, performer, and composer across Austin (TX), and works as a brass instructor with the Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps (Canton, OH). He earned his Master’s in Performance from the University of Georgia with David Zerkel and his Bachelor’s in Music Education and Performance from Illinois State University with Dr. Andy Rummel and Dr. Mark Babbitt.

As a member of the University of Georgia Tuba Quartet, he earned honors as first runner-up in the chamber ensemble competitions at the 2014 Music Teachers National Association in Chicago and the International Tuba Euphonium Conference held at Indiana University. His original work, “Tipping Point,” was a finalist at the 2016 U.S. Army Band Tuba-Euphonium Composition Contest.

Patrick’s works have been published through Potenza Music, reviewed in the International Tuba Euphonium Association (ITEA) Journal, and performed at regional and national conferences. In 2016 he founded his own publishing company, Wiley Island Press. In addition, scholarly articles of his research have been published in multiple ITEA Journals.

Jeremy Hunter

JEREMY ANDREW HUNTER is an Independent performer, composer, and educator from Gainesville, Florida. He is currently pursuing a bachelors degree in Music Composition at Santa Fe College with Dr. Andrew Hamilton.

Some of his freelance work has included recording for various artists on trombone, trumpet, piano, bass, guitar, and percussion. Jeremy has worked with the Bands Of America and Florida Marching Band Championships Finalist West Broward High School Performance Ensemble, and currently serves as an instructor with the Santa Fe High School Marching Band.

Jeremy was a member and soloist with the Bluecoats in 2016 and 2017.

Jeremy Seneca

Since 2014, JEREMY SENECA has served as Visual Caption Head for the Colleyville Heritage High School Marching band. In addition, he is a drill designer for many bands in the state of Texas and Louisiana. Prior to joining the staff at Colleyville Heritage, from 2012-2014, Mr. Seneca served as Visual Caption Head for the Plano East Senior High School Marching Band as well as it’s “feeder” 9th-10th grade campus McMillen High School.

Mr. Seneca grew up in Lafayette, Louisiana, where he attended Acadiana High School under the direction of the late Dr. Gerald Waguespack, Dr. Jody Besse, and Jared Gray. He attended the University of Southern Mississippi, majoring in Music Education and Exercise Science.

As a performer, Mr. Seneca spent three years with The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps. He went on to teach The Cavaliers from 2009 to 2014.

Mr. Seneca currently resides in The Colony, TX with his wonderful wife Ashton.

CHRIS STANLEY is a freelance Musician, Audio Engineer, and Educator originally from the city of Chicago, Illinois.

He holds a Bachelors degree in Trumpet Performance from Morehouse College (Atlanta, GA) and a Masters degree in Jazz Studies with a concentration in Commercial Music Production from the University of Central Oklahoma (Edmond, OK).

Chris has been involved in the Drum Corps tradition since 2004 (2011-Present as an instructor), and specializes in high brass instruction, ensemble methods, and the physical/mental conditioning required for performances.
