Front Ensemble Instructor

KEVIN CISNEROS was born in South Los Angeles, California. He is a product of the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) where he attended Palms Middle School and the Academy of Music at Alexander Hamilton High School in West LA. Being raised in the rougher parts of the city have inspired Kevin to promote the power of music in lower socioeconomic communities around him.

Past performance experiences include Pulse Percussion Ensemble (2015, 2016), Pacific Crest Drum and Bugle Corps (2015), and the LAUSD All City Band (2012). Kevin has also performed as part of the L.A. Opera percussion section (2012), the Pasadena City College Lancer Marching Band and Percussion Ensemble (2013), and various Latin bands around Southern California.

Kevin directs the percussion programs at San Pedro High School in San Pedro, California (2017-Present) and El Sereno Middle School in East Los Angeles (2013-Present). He serves as assistant percussion instructor for LAUSD’s All City Honor Marching Band (2013-Present)—a consistent participant of the Tournament of Roses Parade every year. More recently, Kevin has joined the front ensemble staff for POW Percussion (2016-Present).

Past instructional experiences include directing the percussion program at John F. Kennedy High School in Granada Hills, California (2013-2016) and Chino Hills High School in Chino Hills, California (2016).

Kevin still lives in Los Angeles, and is in the process of completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education.

Adam Chrobak

ADAM CHROBAK is a freelance visual instructor, clinician, and owner of a marching design company based in Austin, Texas. He primarily works with Lake Travis, Westlake, and Vandegrift High Schools, and consults at a number of other successful Texas outdoor and indoor programs. His drill and visual designs have contributed to all programs getting top UIL honors at the region marching contest, and multiple podium finishes at contests.

Adam’s performed with the Santa Clara Vanguard from 2007  – 2011. He served as visual instructor at Crossmen from 2013-2015.

Angel Nazarrio

ANGEL NAZARRIO performed with Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps in 2012 and 2014 (tuba), and with Pulse Percussion in 2014 (visual ensemble) and 2015 (cymbals).

He served as visual instructor at Genesis Drum & Bugle Corps in 2015 and teaches visual at Pulse Percussion.

Angel lives in Canyon Country, California.

Erik Brown

ERIK BROWN is a software engineer and former teacher living in San Francisco, CA. He also proudly serves as the Director of Education for the Northern California Percussion Alliance, a non-profit scholastic and independent percussion circuit.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Classical Language and Literature from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and his Masters of Arts in Education Policy and Administration from Loyola Marymount University.

Erik’s performance career includes Pacific Crest, 1998-2000, the Santa Clara Vanguard, 2001-2004, and the Santa Clara Vanguard Winter Guard, 2006-2007.

He served on the visual staff at Santa Clara Vanguard for the 2005 and 2013-14 seasons.

Rob Jett

Color Guard Consultant

ROB JETT serves as Pacific Crest’s color guard consultant.

Rob grew up outside Nashville, TN, where he went to Western Kentucky University and majored in Advertising. He currently resides in San Diego, California, with husband, Carlos.

Rob’s performance career began with Suncoast Sound Drum and Bugle Corps (1987-1989) and Magic of Orlando Drum and Bugle Corps (1990), as well as Alliance of Miami Winterguard (1988-1990), and San Jose Raiders (1991).

He served as Color Guard Caption Head for Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps (2000-2002), and held positions as a technician/designer/consultant for several other organizations, including The Academy and Spirit of Atlanta. He has also worked with several winter guard programs such as the San Jose Raiders, Rancho Bernardo High School, The Academy, Ayala High School and currently with Diamond Bar High School, Fantasia and Fenix Independent Winter Guards.

Rob is Color Guard Co-Caption Head for the Blue Knights.

Taylor Smith

TAYLOR SMITH is an educator, performer, drill designer, and student in the Southern California region, and lived in Rancho Cucamonga for most of his life. He graduated from Los Osos High School in 2008, and attended Riverside Community College, where he earned his Associates Degree in Human and Behavioral Sciences.

While at RCC, Taylor played trombone with world famous RCC Marching Tigers and was the featured soloist in the 2009 show. He traveled to the Bands Of America Grand National Championships as a performer with RCC in 2008 and 2010. Taylor performed with the Blue Devils in 2010 and 2011. In that final season, he placed second in the Individual & Ensemble Competition for trombone.

After aging-out of drum corps, Taylor accepted a position at Colony High School in the visual caption, and taught there until 2014. In 2012, he was brought as a visual instructor for Pacific Crest. He then taught music and visual for Blue Devils B (2013) and served as visual instructor for The Blue Stars in 2014 and 2015.

Taylor graduated from California State University, Long Beach, in 2015 with a Bachelors Degree in Jazz Performance and Music Education. He looks forward to earning his teaching credential and becoming a high school band director.

A resident of Long Beach, California, he teaches music at Chino Hills High School and Los Alamitos High School, as well as several middle schools in Orange County, California.
