Color Guard Instructor

NOEL JOSEPH GABRINTINA is currently the Color Guard Director at Ronald Reagan High School in San Antonio, TX. Originally from San Diego, CA, he has instructed a number of Southern and Northern California color guard ensembles, including Mount Carmel, Poway, Los Altos, and Oak Grove.

Noel has performed extensively throughout the color guard activity. He performed with the Santa Clara Vanguard, from 2009 to 2013, and a number of Independent World Class Winter Guards, including Fantasia, Corona, and Santa Clara Vanguard Winter Guard, where he served as the captain. Most recently Noel performed with the Broadway musical, BLAST! He joined the cast as a member of the “Visual Ensemble” on their 2014 Japan tour where he performed in all 47 prefectures of Japan.

Noel is pursuing a degree in Accounting from University of Texas, San Antonio, and hopes to continue on to earn his CPA certification. He is thankful for the opportunity at Pacific Crest and honored to work with a great team of educators.

Sarah Choi

Drum Major Camp Instructor

Sarah Choi is a music educator born and raised in Southern California.  After graduating from Diamond Bar High School in 2008, where she served as drum major for two years, she went on to receive her Bachelor’s degree and teaching credential in music at California State University, Fullerton.  She is currently the band director at Rubidoux High School in Jurupa Valley, California.

Sarah has taught at Troy High School as a woodwind coach, marching instructor, and parade instructor, and worked briefly at Diamond Bar High School, as well.  She did her student teaching at Loara High School and Ball Junior High. She has nearly a decade experience coaching drum majors.

 

 

Vince Underwood

VINCE UNDERWOOD is a brass and visual instructor, drill writer, and music arranger from California’s central valley with over a decade’s worth of experience in the marching arts.

Vince began his drum corps career as a charter member of Fever Drum and Bugle Corps, and eventually went on to teach for the corps in 2006. He taught brass for the the Mandarins Drum and Bugle Corps in 2008 and became their Assistant Brass Caption Head in 2009.

Vince has worked at a number of high schools as a caption head, brass instructor and visual instructor, including Beyer, Live Oak, Los Gatos, and Monte Vista. He also served as the Director and Caption Head of Precision Percussion in 2011.

As a drill designer and music arranger, he has written for numerous marching bands and winter percussion ensembles, including Beyer, Benecia, Los Banos, Live Oak, and others. He is currently the drill designer and caption head for the WGI Independent ensemble Impact Winter Percussion.

In 2010 Vince was the designer for the WGI World Championship Finalist and WGI A Class Fan Favorite Award winning Los Banos High School.

Vince currently resides in Modesto, California, working as a graphic novelist and cartoonist when not teaching and designing for marching ensembles.

School Outreach Program

Attending a drum corps show can be unaffordable to high school students. To provide a more affordable option, Pacific Crest’s School Outreach Program offers free and discounted tickets to school groups that attend Corps at the Crest.
