Justin Carpenter was born and raised in Altadena, California, where he began his marching percussion career at age 12 at Marshall Fundamental High school. Upon graduating high school, he performed with SoCal Dream 2011, Pacific Crest 2012, Riverside Community College 2014, and Orange County Independent and Broken City Percussion 2014-2017.

During his marching career Justin was influenced by Mike Jackson, Roger Carter, Kevin Shah, Veronica Wicks, Jonathan Wicks, Suvin Varghese, and Jared Andrews.

When he is not involved in the marching arts, Justin is pursuing his undergraduate degree in Administration of Justice to land a career in Law Enforcement. He also instructs, consults and composes for high schools across southern California. He currently works at Bonita High School, Chino High school and Etiwanda High School.
