DARREN LONEY is the director of instrumental music at La Quinta High School in La Quinta, Ca. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at CSU Long Beach, where he studied trombone with James Miller. He completed Level II Kodály Certification studying Kodály methodology, solfege, conducting, and folk song analysis. At his time at Long Beach State, he performed with the Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra, and the Studio Jazz Band.

Darren is an avid arranger/composer for bands throughout Southern California. He has written for Downey, University, Woodbridge, Laguna Beach, and Magnolia High School. His charts for the CSULB Pep Band caught media attention during the basketball team's NCAA trip to Columbus, Ohio. Prior to his position at La Quinta High School, Darren was the visual caption head at Woodbridge, University, and Mater Dei High Schools.

Darren holds membership in the Southern California Band and Orchestra Association, California Music Educators Association, the Golden Key International Honor Society, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. Darren is an alumnus of Pacific Crest, and was a marching member of the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps.
